Counsellor in Wolverhampton helping people to lead happier lives.
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Mark and I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist providing both short and long-term therapy to adult individuals in Wombourne (near Wolverhampton).
I work with clients both in-person, and as an online counsellor.
Do you feel that something is holding you back in life, that things could be much better but aren’t sure where to begin? If so then I work with people like you and help them to improve their lives. This can lead to benefits such as better sleep, stronger relationships, more confidence, and improved physical health.
I provide a compassionate space where you’ll find the safety needed to explore challenging aspects of yourself. I’ll listen carefully and will always try to understand things from your perspective, without judgement. Due to the confidential nature of counselling, you’ll be able to explore relationships in your life without fear of hurting anyone.
Counselling can help you to gain the space needed to identify coping mechanisms that used to work, but which have now become a problem in themselves. It can help you to spot self-sabotaging behaviours, and feel empowered to do things differently, maybe for the first time.
Everyone’s life story and situation are truly unique, but there are some common themes to how counselling works. Experiencing the special qualities of the therapeutic relationship can allow you to face difficult feelings in safety alongside your counsellor. Once these feelings are allowed into the open, they can be understood from a new perspective which can help you to move on with your life.
Counselling can be a wonderful form of self-care to give to yourself, so why not contact me for more information. You have nothing to lose, and potentially lots to gain.

About Me
Counselling is a second career for me, having spent twenty five years in the corporate world. I had reached a point in my life where I was struggling with my own mental health and reaching out for help marked the start of a transformational healing journey. This experience inspired me to train as a counsellor myself. I now hold a Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Keele University and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). During my training I counselled NHS staff for an NHS Trust in North Staffordshire, and worked with cancer patients and their families as a Macmillan counsellor. I currently work for a counselling charity in central Birmingham alongside my private practice.
I provide in-person counselling in Wombourne which is around five miles from Wolverhampton city centre. I also provide online counselling via telephone or video. All clients are free to choose which option they prefer, with some opting for a mixture, to fit around busy lives.
My counselling fee is £50 per session.
Most clients choose a regular appointment either on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Ad-hoc sessions are also possible, although this is often more suitable once a counselling relationship has been established.
I know how daunting it can be to contact a counsellor for the first time so I offer a free introductory call to chat things through. This will give you an opportunity to tell me a little about what brings you to counselling and for you to ask any questions you may have.
Counsellor in Wolverhampton
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange a free introductory call. This enables us to discuss what brings you to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07544041025 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
Enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
Choosing the right counsellor for you is very important, and if you don't feel that we could work together there is absolutely no obligation to go any further. I will also use this initial call to decide whether I feel I can help you. If not, then I may be able to refer you on to a more suitable counsellor.
